I've gotten a new job in London

May 31, 2026

When I landed my graduate position at Ryanair and got that first months salary, it felt like a slam dunk. I had gone from artist on Social Welfare to a real salary with perks, job security, and a clear path upward (or so I thought). But while I learned a lot in that first year and got comfortable in a professional engineering environment, it ended on a massively unfulfilling note.

Happy graduate

Delighted with himself

The people I worked with are genuinely the perfect employees. Dilligent with an amazing attention to detail on top of exceptional ability to deliver. I want to be clear that Ryanair is the best at what they do, even in software. But it was the wrong fit for me and the department, as soon as I got my experience I started to look elsewhere.

After discussing with my girlfriend we decided on moving to London. Beginning in April I am now a UI Software Engineer for the Cybersecurity firm Darktrace.

A much better fit
